Verification of Program civilengapps-SST Based on Example from DIN 4084 Bbl 1:2023-02
The following video shows how to use civilengapps-SST program for analysis of slope stability problems. You can also find additional information from the text below the video

Modelling in civilengapps-SST

Work from top to down
-
We set the design code and design situation as Eurocode and permanent design situation
-
update parameters of automatically generated soil property to have the properties of the top layer
-
Add additional soil property for the bottom layer and edit values
-
Edit ground surface points, first update existing points, afterwards you can add multiple points
-
Update (check) the soil properties of the top layer
-
Create the bottom layer and set the soil property accordingly, Layer will be created automatically at a distance of approx. 5 m.

Edit the points of the new layer. First update existing points then add new points.

Create ground water table at z=0
-
Afterwards edit points to match the specified water table
-
If any actions (surcharge loads and traffic loads) you can add them with the action menu

Define slip circles
-
We match our choices to the expected slip surface
-
Center (9.99 , -26.74) (we set left top corner at 2 meters distance to 7.99, -30.74, mind that z coordinate is positive downwards), we set the grid interval to be 2 m
-
Radius 28.55 m (we set Rmin to be 26.55 and Rmax to be 30.55, in between we define 4 slip circles so that we can check additional slip circles with radius of 27.55, 28.55 and 29.55)

We match our choices to the expected slip surface

We set the lamella width (lw) to be 3.54 m same as in the DIN Standard (in order to get more accurate results you can reduce the width up to 0.5 m)

We reduce the grid width to 10 m (Gx and Gz) in order to limit the number of slip circles

Refresh the page after a few seconds and you will see the slip circles

Then we analyze the slip circles
-
Since calculations are done in the background you need to wait for at least a few seconds to a minute (depending on the number of slip circles) to get the results

Now we refresh the page
